IMHO the way they have designed the key ignition on top of the wood trim is deplorable ;( the volume switches etc are trash quality, AC always works after thinking too much, no rear seat recline and mother of all trashy Hi fi std audio system;(

The recline doesn't go far enough. Maybe your seats are already in reclinded state.. :)

I just replaced all my pads with Akebono on the front and rear. You get the same cold bite characteristics and after three days I saw no brake dust on the X5. Go AKEBONO, I did a 4 wheel change with rotors on the rear in about an hour and a half.

My air ventilation stinks every time I turn off the air con. Same smell as my previous 2 BMWs (e46 and e90).

I have a 2010 Mercedes Benz, and don't have the same issue at all! That being said, the X5 is a helluva lot more enjoyable to drive.

For me, it's everytime we start the AC.
The air's hot and have some kind of smell.
I do think it's the cabin filter, but the "stealer" said there's nothing wrong.

I'll have to do it myself once more.

I had a similar issue on my Mustang. The AC condesate drain lines were clogged causing the foul odor. I swear, i thought something had died in my ductwork but it was only on AC. Could be a similar issue

Taught about exactly the same thing, or either moisture accumulated on the condenser itself.
Had to dismantle a dashboard in the past just to clean this, but now seems like it was thought to be removed, so will be an easy fix.
