Thanks, the problem was, it was reading in metric. I switched it over to U.S. miles per gallon and it works fine now...

Thanks, will do. I really like the car. I had never driven the X5 diesel before placing my order, so I didn't know how it was going to drive.
I think I made the right choice. I ran 80 MPH the whole way home and
you couldn't tell it was a diesel. It ran really smooth. My mileage so far isn't that good. 21.9 MPG so far and most was on the highway...

what range did it show on a full tank of gas? For me it usually says 370mi or so after a fill-up. Manual says it's based on the last 20 miles driven but just curious anyway.

I have a UK spec 3.0sd SE and when i have brimed the tank have often seen 550+ miles range.

Craig, What mileage were you expecting at 80 mph??

wdc330i 01-03-2009 01:25 PM

I get about 23.5 at 80 with the 3.0...

I had no idea, but I thought it would be better than 21.9. It should get better once it's broken in is what I've heard... I had heard people were getting around 30 MPG on the highway. I don't know their speed.

I will let you know next time I fill up. I didn't look at it when I drove away. It has over a half tank now and it's over 300 miles left on the range...

watch out for imperial mpg vs. our mpg. ;) You may hit high 20s though... I'll wager maybe 28mpg... eventually.

Advertised mileage is 19/26, so I'm sure it'll improve.
