I had test driven the Mercedes ML diesel and it didn't have enough power to pass on the highway. The X5 diesel doesn't have that problem...

I haven't test driven the diesel yet so I can't say for sure. I have to say that if the tt gas engine became available, it would be a tough choice. I'd like more power than the 3.0si, but don't want the extra cost or poor fuel economy of the 4.8. I'd also like the improved iDrive interface and function of the 2009 3 series. I think I'm going to wait until I drive the 35d to make a decision and try and get a bit more information on a possible spring refresh.

How are you finding the torque of your 35d? Can you comment on everyday driving in it compared to the 4.8?

yeah as much as I like my diesel I like that TT 4.4 V8 more :)

speaking of diesels, have a listen to this dakar one as it goes out the gate:

not half bad without all the emissions junk :)

Well, I've only test driven the 4.8 one time, but the diesel is fine for
both city and highway and I thought the 3.0 gas engine didn't have enough power. I don't have that feeling with the diesel. I don't have a whole lot of miles on mine, but so far I really like it. I didn't order the navigation, so I went with the current I drive. I've seen the new I drive and without the navigation, I don't miss any of the new functions to tell you the truth.

Let me know when you test drive the diesel...

That is one of the things I meant, the other is you can't hook the anchor facing up, there is something that blocks it when try to hook from the bottom of the anchor. The belt and hooks looks like this is meant to be hooked facing upwards.
It seems to unnatural to hook down facing (from top of anchor) and very very tight.

It has a POI in the NAV system?

Works perfectly!
They should make the system more intuitive...

If it is for a different problem, it is OK, but if it is a tire issue and you don't have RFT then they will charge you $ (for Canada anyways).

That is just plain silly. I can't believe BMW would do something so petty to their customers.

It is the "information" tab within the nav menus.

Thanks!

Is there a way to remove the phrase "Do not rely sole on camera" when the rear camera comes on when reversing?

I just filled up and the range said 463 miles after I filled the tank. I don't think the dealer filled my tank all the way up when I picked up my car. I filled it all the way up today.

Craig, congratulations on the purchase. How much did it cost OOTD if you don't mind sharing. Any incentives on the diesel?
Thx

No incentives, I sent you a PM...

There is a $1550.00 IRS tax credit for the diesel. It's for an alternative fuel vehicle.
