08 4.8i, new no km's. $12800 off list and financing at 0.5% on the portion I financed.

Most internet sales managers (in the US) are allowed to discount 6% off MSRP--most of them have told me that. So, that is a general starting point to negotiate.

$2,005 below invoice for a 3.0 I ordered in July 08 and delivered 15 days later ... with .9% financing. I thought it was a pretty good deal tho I am sure there is always someone who did better.

4K off MSRP. 100.00 over invoice. I purchased a 325 convertible for 2500 off MSRP the week prior to the X5 purchase so they made me a great deal. Financed the 3 for .09% for 5 years!!! Purchased mid summer 08

I was just in Manhattan friday. The streets are worse now than when I was a resident of the borough a few years back. I couldn't deal with a new car in the City.

Parking, forget about it. The prices for indoor parking are crazy. I had to park my car Friday for a few hours on the upper east side. While I was waiting for them to bring it down I was looking at the monthly fees posted on the wall. $700.00 bucks a month for a sedan. Another $100.00 if you have a SUV, plus a 18% parking tax on top of that. Kiss my............

I take a huge detour through Jersey to avoid driving through the city en route to home. I will drive my manual e90 at speeds in excess of twice the posted limit while texting in Boston before driving anything in the city of New York.

There is (was) a leftover 2007 at BMW of Peabody a couple weeks ago, loaded 69,7 MSRP for the mid fifties :thumbup: They're doing 5-7K off 2008 X6's as well.

I've lived here all my life and still can't understand why the streets are in such poor condition. They are always doing roadwork, but nothing seems to get better.

I still miss living in Manhattan, but being a homeowner in Nassau with a garage and a driveway that will hold 4 cars is much nicer. I can jump on the Railroad and be in midtown in 20 minutes.

Do you mind sharing which dealer in Canada?

Some dealers made it 'seem' like you're getting a better deal. I was being offered over $10K off a 2008 4.8i and low financing. When I took a closer look at the quote, I realized they had jacked up the prices on some of the packages, added admin fees, $1500 in 'other dealer charges' and $1000 in 'other msrp options' etc. Looking at all the fine print now, I'm glad I didn't buy it.

In the U.S. the prices are lower to begin with and there are several rebates being offered along with dealer discounts and low interest financing.

But in Canada there are no deals on the 09 models. I realize they were trying to clear out '08 inventory but I'm still waiting to see what unfolds for the next month or so...
