glad they worked that out... sounds like you guys are headed in the right direction.
X5 Meister, do you happen to have SIB 12 18 09 handy? They did this to me on June 4th after I had already gotten another update in May... curious what it was... they wouldn't explain, but said it was a recall which they sprung on me on the spot. |

These two bulletins EXACTLY address the top two problems I have with the car and are the only complaints I have about the drive train. I hope they really work to fix the issues, Thank you so much for the post!!! :)
MIght be the best thread ever IMHO |
Thanks for the info everyone. I have an '07 3.0 E70 (production date early '06). Do these SIBs cover the 3.0 engine or just the 4.8?
|
^ the linked PDFs indicate 4.8 or 3.0 or both... first two are 4.8 only, while the last (not related to the same 4.8 hesitation issue) is 3.0 only.
After the 4.8 fix described in the OP, are you people still getting the acceleration lag though? I understand there should be no more jolts or indecisiveness. |
I got mine done today (4.8i, with the two SIBs posted before) I brought the SIBs in with me and the dealer updated the software within a day. Much smoother now. thanks Zioch for posting!

Had the software updated, wow, seems like a big improvement. It always felt like there was a pull on it (to slow it down when coasting) now it free running. I think there was some weird logic to keep the shift points lower - most likely for instant power and now they have moved shift points such that it runs/coasts with minimal resistance. Also the "jolt" when stopping is gone!

Thanks to the OP and for the pdfs. Now we'll see how my dealer responds.
