Anyone having trouble tracking production via the BMWUSA web site? I'm getting a site related error message. Worked OK yesterday.

Yup! Totally screwed up and there is no one to fix it. It has been like this for a few days. Ridiculous. Called today and talked to client relations. Even they couldn't log on to the system which is proof that their data is as bad as ours. Don't waste your time with the website. My status was at prep center a week ago. Just for kicks, I created a new user and added the same production code and now it says it's on order! How can a car be on order and at the prep center at the same time? I have given up on it and will just wait it out. The CA updates me once in a while.

And about the so called client relations... don't hold your breath. I have talked to them several times and have gotten all kinds of BS ranging from your car is on order to it won't get built for another month to it was built last week!

So, the 800# states that my order has been received by the carrier and awaiting transport. God....the wait is hell!

I just hope the car is here before the end of the year so I can take advantage of the Holiday Credit and use this purchase as a tax write-off for this fiscal year.

Build date is the week of December 1st 2009

I had received an email from CA stating that build date is the week of December 1st 2009 http://www.xoutpost.com/images/smilies/thumbup.gif

I hope I get the deliverery n invoiced this year to get tax write-off and sales tax deduction for this year.

Any guess how much time it takes to build and truck it to North East (Connecticut) :(

Regards

Its around a month n no updates for me :(

How did u guys manage to get the delivery in 14 days/4 weeks.....any tips to pass on or plain lucky

Luck would be my guess in picking the dealer who apparently is liked by the BMW gods. Like I said before, I have no idea why there are such differences in order to delivery times. It seems to go waaaaay beyond just simple distance from Spartanburg as a main factor. I do see though that East Coast seems to be getting the cars quicker than West Coast, which could be the distance thing but the difference seems to be beyond reasonable. But then again, I know absolutely nothing about how the business/scheduling/execution/paperwork etc. works for transporting the cars from the factory to the various dealers throught the country. It could be for example that California may require (which wouldn't be all that surprising - not that it's a bad thing ;)) a lot more certifications related to the environmental stuff.

Just my $0.02

For me the 800# was still saying that until yesterday I think, at which point it was already waiting for me @ the dealer for couple of days w/the hitch installed. So I would definitely start pinging your sales guy w/elevated frequency ;) right about now LOL.
