Sorry to hear that. Good luck.

Just got a call from a nervous manager.. they found the issue to be a bad hardness connector to those 2 lights... replacing now, should be ready in 1 hour.

how f*%*%*ing hard was that and why did I have to jump through hoops?

i guess they dont expect to see problems like that. let's hope that is it. sometimes i wish there was less computer control in vehicles, it would make trouble shooting easier. i would love to buy an X with nothing but a drive train and doors, and the outer shell. i'll put my own seats and lights in. haha

Good for you Gene, looks like you are getting back your X, it will be a nice weekend...

Glad you got it fixed. Just a suggestion: Next time, take a deep breath, explain the problem to the dealer, let them fix it, and keep taking deep breaths. It isn't worth getting stressed out over. It wasn't a simple switch or wiring problem, it was apparently within a harness. They searched for the problem, they escalated to BMW for technical assistance, they fixed it under warranty, and they gave you a free loaner while all that went on. Yes, it would be better if it had never happened, but stuff happens on overly compex cars. It will happen again. Sending multiple not-so-pleasant emails marks you to the dealer as "that @#$@#$#@ customer". Save that escalation effort for when you really need it. Being friends with the dealer gets you further. Just my $0.02.
