Thinking of upgrading to an X35d in the future, but I'm a do-it-yourself kinda guy... |
You can add the urea solution yourself. Check out the owners manual (freely downloadable) to see how easy it is if you'd like.

There are a lot if misconceptions about Diesel Exhaust fluid, even in the heavy Duty trucking world, as all engines in 2010 will use SCR/DEF to lower NOx to the new EPA/CARB standards.
Here are a couple of links that have some good information (from a trucking perspective) that may help all understand what DEF is and does. Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Diesel Exhaust Fluid | Facts About SCR |
I have about 1200 miles on mine. Saw the exhaust fluid warning and no start in 987 miles. Restarted the car and the warning was gone and couldn't find it in the vehicle status screen. Should I bring it in or is it just a glitch? Would hate to find out one day that the car would not start due to this. Any way to manually check the fluid level? Thanks.

I had the message come up once, then it went away. I'm not sweating it. I believe, in my instance, it came up because we had been traveling in very cold temperatures for quite awhile. Next day, it just disappeared, once we were out of the cold temps. Hope I'm not being foolish, but I'm not too worried.

Well, 1600 miles on my 2010 and I just got the same warning! 9xx miles to go.
Wonder what's up with that...if it comes up again I'll bring it in I guess... A |
