Help needed: Could not program the garage remote opener

I tried to program my remote garage opener. So many times, from different distances between remote and the X5 buttons(under mirror), but in-vein.
I did reset the X5 buttons by pressing two buttons simultaneously for over 30 secs, but after that could not make the led blink faster with pressing the garage remote and garage remote button on X5.

Please help, did I miss something here.

Mine doesn't work when I try it that way, either. Find the manual for your garage door opener (the actual unit). It should have directions on how to set a garage door opener (whether it's another handheld unit, or a car).
What I had to do on mine was push a purple button on the unit, and within 30 seconds go push the button in the car that I wanted to sync.

Have you tried the step-by-step instructions found HERE? You have to follow them exactly.

Wow! It has been almost 4 years since I wrote that guide. :)

Here's the simpler guide that I used (and have posted before):

dreamx5...you're not alone. I too have tried countless times and just can't make it happen.

I had the same problem, then i used statdocs directions..works perfectly now

Thanks, I took the print out of statdocs directions, will try in the evening.
@ Brian, I'm struck up at step 2 itself. There was no rapid flashing, no matter how long I press both the buttons simultaneously.

other potential issues... (i too had issues with Homelink)

1) make sure the hand held remote has new batteries
2) make sure the hand held remote is on the "right" frequency. Some remotes provide two choices
3) if (1) and (2) do not fix the issue, try another hand held remote

It can be a ridiculous process (it took me like 30 minutes of trying different combinations b/f the car finally finally took the signals)

Brians instructions are correct. Love the graphics :)
