I have those grooves and the print out contains option 322 "Comfort Access" ... I also I have the non-recharegeable battery "CR2032". I think those signs confirm that I already have the option.

Is there away to enable/ diable this option, I also tried looking into the idrive and there was no option for this !!! . I tried all doors but there was no respose.

I am not sure what is the problem, it is really difficult to have an option you can't use :(

Take it to a dealer and get them to sort it out .. I'm sure its nothing major, and they may be able to sort it on the spot for you via quick diagnostic check ..good luck ..hope your world becomes more comfortable real soon :)

The local dealer is requesting $ 3,500 just to open a file for the car (without the fixing) because the Car was originally bought from another country... (a way to prevent people from geting cars from outside!!!)

Any more ideas how to fix the comfort access issue without going to the dealer ...!!

If you have both Fobs did you try them both? Just grabbing the handle should open the door. Otherwise it has to be in the car. There are not any I drive controls for it but there are some pages in the manual. I assume the FOB works with the buttons so it is nothing like battery in backwards. I do not think it has its own fuse or anything like that. Most likey an issue with the receiver or wire and that would need to be traced down by someone.

I agree, sounds like an issue with the car or programming, if it was certified shouldn't they take responsibility to make sure everything worked? Where did it come from? Is the selling dealer too far away to try and get them to do something?

Dude, I'd be less worried about the comfort access and more concerned about what you'll do if the car ever breaks down during your ownership!

Call BMW up in German, find the country manager for Kuwait and see what he suggests....

I'm a BMW dealer (used) and buy plenty of BMW's with Comfort Access...Your syptoms are indicative of (either) a bad key or a "mating" (programming) issue between the car and the key. This SHOULD be repaired under warranty...If you aren't under warranty then you are looking at a $250 to $300 key and/or 1 hour of programming ($140 or so).

HTH

I only have one keyfob and I agree that it might be car programming issue. I will visit the dealer and open a file .

Thanks to all

Please tell me you're NOT going to pay $3,500 to do that...

The reason dealers do it is simple:

People will pay it.

I'd have tried to force the issue from BMW Germany through the country manager, but whatever....
