Sport package was a must for me...it's the little things...anthracite headliner, black exterior trim, extended wheel arches, no cost 20's, sport steering wheel...

Wish I could have found $500 or $1,000 over invoice. Best I can come up with is $1,700 over invoice. Can't order as I need to find an in stock x35D this week. Settled on one in Colorado. But they are out there for sure. I don't need navigation so Tech Package isn't a draw. I wanted the heated seats/steering wheel though as my current X has them. Comfort access is great...and look for one that has the new connected drive which was added in March 2011 if memory serves me.

"This week"? You are paying for that need- they know it, they price accordingly. It isn't a matter of 'finding' one on the lot at 500 over, dealers know those are valuable and command the premium.

I just cannot spend $60k and not get precisely what I want... and def agree on the heated seats!

I was at Steven's Creek BMW (San Jose) today and they have a nice silver X535d sitting on the lot! Has premium, sport, tech, 214 wheels, but no adaptive drive. Looks very nice. Has 65k sticker. I was surprised to see it on the lot. However, I did not look close enough to see if it was one with the new LED coronas......

What does this have to do with the discussion at hand?

I spoke with one dealer locally and they committed to $1500 over invoice (although the salesman said they'll do $1k over to close the deal). The second dealer is working on it and think they can be at $500 over invoice. We'll see. Right now I am looking at the following setup:

Plat Grey Exterior
Cinnamon Interior
Tech Package
Prem Sound
Prem Package
Cold Weather
Rear Climate
Sport Package (maybe not)
Multi-Contour Seats
Comfort Access
Running Boards
Roof Rails

Not sold on the sport package. It is nice but doesn't seem worth it for $2k.

Well, you sounded like you had some urgency in your need to get a vehicle asap, and since there is a reported absence of diesels on the showroom floors, I thought maybe I'd let you know that there is one sitting on a showroom floor in CA, and that you could perhaps see if you can get a better deal than the one you stated. Long run on sentence, but just trying to help ya out.

In fact, given that you haven't actually seen the vehicle, say that it is "in the area", and it is the same color (and it seems to have the same options), perhaps it MAY even be the same one that we are talking about. You could just call Steven's Creek and deal with them directly.....

Ah, I see! Well, good luck! Regardless of your decision to buy off lot or order, you'll love it. We have 2 kiddos (5 and 3.5) and it fits 2 Britax Boulevards and all our "stuff" just well. The only thing we have a problem with is that the double BOB stroller won't fit in the back. However, we are almost done with that as the kids get older and too big for it anyhow......

Sport pack… straight up needs it… maybe your not a "performance" kind of person… but definitely makes the car look more aggressive.
