window/door creak fixed!
I had the creaking in the front doors of my 2011 X5 starting late last year. I took it to one dealer and they said that the door seals needed to be lubricated. So, they smeared some sort of grease all around them and all that did was get on my hands whenever I would open or close the door. It did not solve the problem.
So, I just took it to a different dealer and they said that there is a service bulletin for the issue that says the door seals are the problem and they have a new door seal design. He ordered the new door seals for all four doors (even though only the front doors seem to be creaking) and the noise is gone. I would hear it any time I was driving slow and would go over any slightly uneven surface. I would especially notice in when turning into our driveway - which isn't very steep. The bulletin is SIB 51 05 11. |

Since you probably can't hurt anything by trying this, grab a piece of fine grain sandpaper, stick it between the window and the door seal and lightly move the sandpaper right to left. The surface of the seal is too smooth so it's like gym shoes on a shiny gym floor - remember how they squeak in a basketball court? If you scuff up the rubber surface, the problem should go away if it's coming from the seal. And you won't need new seals!

Sorry - I forgot to mention to be sure the sandy side is facing away from the window and toward the seal. You don't want to scratch the tinting or your window! :)

thanks car_girl, i will try that tonight..seems like its the felt area that seals the window that is causing the noise.

It may be temperature related. Mine started this about a month ago, got noisier as time went by and now it's a constant annoyance, creaking on every little bump and turns, and whenever the chassis flexes.
