I have a Dinan stage 5 tune in my e36 track car. When I compared Dynos, my A/F ratio got too rich. I sent the graphs to Dinan for them to address and they wanted $500 to fix the tune? Why? I already paid?

After many emails back and forth, they wouldn't fix my issue. I find this pretty poor customer service and proved their software claims are wrong. I have over $30K in Dinan products on 3 cars and still git a big FU from Dinan to solve my issue at no cost.

Went to AA software, took my Dinan badges off all 3 cars and sent them back.

Sorry to hear about your luck with the stage 5 tune,,,however, I am going after a stage 1,,,surely they can't mess that up....strange though,,,I did try and get a dyno sheet from Dinan, but they said that they don't have one available to publish,,,,,hmm:rolleyes:

i just got an actice tune in my x5m today (see m section) anyway i paid $1350 for 86hp 117 ft lbs tq thats what they claim and its awesome !!

the car really came alive , imo it should come this way from factory !

ive had active tunes on my m5 with no trouble atall , if i was you i'd call and speak with someone @ active get some info cause the $$$ for $$$ active makes more sense !!

in addition i spoke with my dealer locallly (really cool guys there ) who's actuallly a dinan dealer and dinan's no longer covered by bmw warr' !!

so i ask why all the extra $$$$

my 0.02 cents

BMW warranty doesn't cover Dinan products, but Dinan warranty covers consequential damage to the vehicle, something that other tuners typically don't. See Active's website:

Quote:

:iagree:.......I've had nothing but good service from Dinan. And I've never had a problem with service on my Dinan vehicles. There are those that complain about the price you pay for Dinan products, but at the end of the day the piece of mind is worth it to me. And besides that their product is great in my book........Phil

Dinan NEVER was covered by BMWs warranty. You and the rest of the market (ie the really cool guys at the dealership) just never understood it. As JCL pointed out, dinan has a separate warranty to cover issues they may have caused.

To the person who has a dinan tune with 'issues'... you have ONLY dinan mods and dinan recommended tunes, and still the issue??? Something sounds off...

This is why I am favoring a Dinan tune over someone else....they have their own warranty for anything that get messed up because of their tune. My only objection is that they do not want to post or e-mail any dyno's of their tune. I mean really,,,how do I know that I am really getting 96 HP/103lb-ft as they claim and not anything less. They did offer me a money back guarantee if I was not happy, but if I only got 50+ HP or 75+ HP I probably would be happy,,,but when they say 96HP how do I know if I really have 96HP unless I do a dyno and if it come up short,I doubt they would do anything about it!....this one thing could be the deal killer,,,IDK!

Go dyno you X before you get the tune. Then dyno it again after it's installed. They are giving you a money back guarantee.....all you'll lose is a little time. FI engines are easier to boost hp with a simple tune.......I say take Dinan up on their offer..............Phil
