DINAN TUNING

Has anyone here with an X5 50i that did a Dinan tune on their vehicle? The reason I ask is that I am very interested in getting one, but not sure if the tune is cost effective. It seems the added 96+hp is ok, but what impresess me the most is the 573 lb-ft @3500!!,,,that's why I am calling out the people who got the Dinan tune for their opinion!!

Bump...........no one here has a tune on their 50i???:dunno:

I am sure a few have done it but don't know why they haven't responded. Their reports are favorable, saying there is a noticeable difference.

Thanks for the reply........been looking for favorable comments regarding the tune,,,looks like I will take the plunge and get it sometime after the first of the year. Hope maybe by that time,,there might be a special or something from the dealer on this. Thanks again,,:thumbup:

Dinan is always very expensive and typical very good. You can not go wrong. But if I were you I would look at Active AutoWerke's tune:
Active Autowerke X6 (TT 4.4) Performance Software -- Active Autowerke Online Store

Or ESS: N63 DirectFlash ECU Performance Software - ESS Tuning | BMW Tuning Parts | BMW Racing, Tuning, Aftermarket, Performance Parts | Engine Power Chips | Performance Upgrades Chip

And not to mention EuroCharged: I have their tune on my M5. Very impressive.

It looks like Dinan will get my business,,,,not because the other companies cannot perform,,,but this

"maximum output of 495 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 573 lb-ft torque at 3500 rpm."

:wow::wow::wow:

Not sure if this will impact your decision, but I've heard (complete and total rumor) that the Dinan advertised numbers are exaggerated. :dunno:

BTW, I'm interested in your results if you go w/ Dinan as I would like to do it as well if things work out. Primarily because it comes with the 50K warranty. :thumbup:

Good Luck, and please let us know how things go.

Cheers!

I have it...it's a must have! The second stage 2 comes out, I'm getting that done. The stock 50i is a beast but with the Dinan stage 1....wow wow wow

How much more is Stage 2 supposed to add.
