The retail price of my X5 was $42K, I'm sure with the changing of the new year that's gone down a little bit but it was an excellent deal...and still is. |

You are renting a car for a year, year and a half, and you are going to remove the hitch and put a new bumper cover on?!??!? This thread is nuts. |

Nothing ia definate. But one thing im sure is that i ll be using a car at least for a year and and half before i graduate. I am pretty sure im gonna be using car for more than that but never know when i get a job in my home country and is forced to sell all my things. And tow hitch coming off (add areo kit) will be my ideal set up but i dont have to. I was just wondering how hard to do it since i like to keep my car as how I wanted. Just leaving options open. Wow..... quite the thread!
You are obviously a fortunate person with supportive (Indulgent perhaps?) parents.;) A lot of people would love to have your problem. I would not like to preach to you, or to restate what I or others have said earlier I am not assuming your principles or priorities are wrong, but I have seen the attitude of "I will be able to afford it and much more" in a year or two after I graduate, and so, no big deal to add several thousand dollars and increased financial risk (fuel and maintenance etc) on top of college and dental school loans which you may or may not have. (Kudos to your parents if you don't) I would say..... delayed gratification, make a smart and financially prudent decision, save the balance in money that comes from it, start saving and investing, buy your next car with cash when you start your lucrative career..... and don't get caught in the "I need to reward myself with all I can get" mentality that affects some professionals to their detriment. All the best. I admire your decision to ask for advice. |

Again: The vehicles you're referring to are higher priced than what I paid. Likewise four months have passed and we've entered a new year since when I purchased my X5. I would expect prices to have come down some since then. With that said I'm not sure what your point is with all of this. |
