I would not get hung up on the 5+ weeks lead time. I placed an order for my old 2011 X5 5.0 in the first week of August but requested a 3rd week of October production date(so i could get the combo box). I could have booked my PCD delivery date in August(which I contemplated). You could have gone to the dealer in September and ordered a X5 with the same production week as mine hell your car could have came off the line right after mine, yet I already booked the PCD delivery date 4+ weeks before you did.

I agree, move your build date to a later time to match up with BMW. It's like booking any appointment, you can't always get in when it's most convenient for you. Would you change dentists or doctors because you can't get the appointment the day and time you want?

There are lots of other people buying BMW's who simply booked before you. It happens.

The Performance Center does the best they can. They're already delivering cars in the front parking lot and splitting up the groups into shifts of deliveries to get through them all. From what I was told when I did ED+PCD (they didn't brief me on the car at all, just checked my ID, gave me the second key and said bon voyage), they can keep your car for a maximum of one month after they receive it. Is the problem that your car is already in production? I would see if the dealer can put your car on the lot and order a new one, but its not their fault that the PC is booked. Good luck getting what you want I suppose.

Performance Center no longer scheduling deliveries for cars ordered w/o Adapative Drive.

The rest of the Spartanburg plant has expanded dramatically over the years, maybe it's time for a PC expansion.

I seriously doubt that.

What he said. I didn't get the adaptive drive option And was offered PCD the Friday before. I just couldn't go because its Memorial weekend and I have commitments already.

Not so hung up on PCD anymore. I would rather pay and schedule a 2 day driving weekend and go later. If it all works out, I get the car the week of, or the the week before the memorial weekend and just have it sooner.

You should. Good thing I'm not in charge of scheduling though.
