How is 5 weeks ahead of time enough time? That's pretty much how long an X5 order takes for everyone to make.... For the record, you sound very whiny.

I am very whiny. Yes. I was already heart broken to trade my E46 M3 convertible for this X5 and I really wanted to experience the PCD since this is my 3rd BMW i've owned, this is the first time I actually had the time to go get it in SC so I did make a big deal about it. SO effing what?!?!?! What I learned from supporting members was to schedule the delivery date first so the factory could arrange the build based on delivery date and will do so the next opportunity I get. Either way, its all good. My car is almost done and I'll end up getting her 2 weeks before my ideal PCD date. The ordering was as described by advisor: About a week to get the VIN and 2-3 weeks for delivery at the dealership. Just got an email today saying the car should be at the stealership this Saturday and will most likely take delivery in 2 weeks. |
I'd stick to your guns. I hear the Q7 is pretty nice.
Why 2 weeks from dealer arrival date? |
I caved. LOL. I'm daily driving a piece and can't wit to get in the new car. I didn't like the q7. It seemed way too big and the engine options didn't make sense for a car that huge. I almost considered the Benz m class. Drove it, built it online and did some more research but the X5 Is so much better, drives like a car and has the free maintenance. That along with the $1000 I get from BMWCCA!!

So in the end, my dealer worked it all out for me. Got my 101 Experience voucher good for one year from the date of the email and my rubber floor mats and trunk mats were delivered to me personally by my sales advisor. I don't recall who mentioned the 101 experience here, but thank you for mentioning something I didn't know about. It's great to have these boards online to get the full scope of something someone has in common with. I look forward to learning and sharing for many years to come.

Sorry the PC thing didn't work out. But I think you would have just as much fun, if not more, doing a BMW CCA weekend track event. I've done a couple and it's been a total blast and well worth the $300-$400 or so.
