Trying to get a deal on bags. Need to do my wifes new 09.

Arnott. I think lifetime warranty is honored only from some sellers though.

Found some brand new Arnott bags on a second hand site. Just trying to get up with the seller and make a deal.

On my recently acquired '08 4.8i, the air springs are behaving oddly. The car normally parks overnight in our gently sloped driveway (nose up). One night about a month ago I put it nose down in the driveway to load it up the next morning, and the driver's side spring only was deflated. Then last week I parked it out front on the level street overnight, and both rear springs deflated. The next night in the driveway they stayed inflated. The following day in the street they deflated. It was parked level all day today, and they stayed inflated.

I don't want to just drop $400 or so on new springs if it doesn't need them, and as long they are staying inflated, I don't think I'm putting undue stress on the compressor.

Are these classic leaking spring symptoms, or something else?

I am having a similar issue except it is the passenger side primarily. Signs are pointing to looking at the distribution block on the drivers side near the rear drivers side wheel. Something about o rings. I haven't torn into it yet but while the truck is idling I can hear the faint hiss of air on occasion.

Mine behaves differently depending on where I park it, but I think that's because wherever the bag is cracked sees more or less strain depending on its position.

When mine started, it could be a week before it deflated again. But it always deflated on both sides. As it started happening more frequently, that's when I made sure to make time to fix it.

I figured I would give a synopsis of my problem and solution in case anyone needs it.

I have a 2010 X5M. Over a month ago, the passenger's side rear air bag would deflate sporadically overnight. Like once a week at first then more often until it was deflating each night. Then the right side was deflating also each night.

I ended up replacing both air bags. When I did this, I noticed the left original bag was empty, but the right was not. I ended up puncturing the right one to get it out.

Replaced both airbags about two weeks ago, and haven't had an issue since.

I'm thinking both airbags are connected together somehow and that is why they both started deflating. Just a guess.

I changed to out my springs last week to the Arnott versions.

It was a very easy job that I got done in an hour or so. It was actually much easier than changing a coil spring (no spring compressor required, no bolts).

I did pull the panel off from the passenger side and loosen the lines to deflate the bags. I changed them out and then put only part of the weight of the X5 on the tires while they aired up the first time to avoid any possibility of them folding up funny when deflated.

The replacment springs seem fine so far. They "are not" OEM but they are much cheaper at around $140 each. :)
