The new compressor was pumping but wasnt lifting the rear. I could hear a hsssng noise coming from the drivers rear while the compressor was trying to pump it back up couldnt really hear anything from the passenger rear .Could both of my airbags have popped?I just replaced them a month ago and it was fine. It's never ending...

Did you make sure to run the little air hose (to the bags) through the channel?
Is it possible you landed the bag on the air supply, and cracked it?

I ran it through the channel correctly. I'm going to jack it up tomorrow to see what's wrong. Right now I just font know what to think. I'm hoping that both airbags didn't break since they are about a month old

I would agree with you.

Possibly the line popped out of the keeper.

Good luck to you.

Jacked up the car and the driver side was defective. First thing I noticed was the bottom plastic part was cracked and there was a hole in the airbag itself. The passenger side was fine. Looks like when the driver side gave out the passenger slightly deflated with it, but it's not defective at all. Luckily I still had one of the original airbags I replaced a month ago that was used but not defective so I swapped it on for now and will call the parts store for a replacement since it's under warranty. I drove the car for a while and it's good. My only questions is what if There is some sort of over prrssure valve that's not working? The drivers side bag deflated while the car was sitting in my driveway turned off. I was just leaning on the front bumper and it delfated..

My understanding is that its a closed system all together. As in the air is shared between the bags. This would make sense to why you need to prop up the entire rear while replacing only one bag.

Just spoke with the car parts place and they told me that they sent the wrong air springs and they would send me the correct springs. Apparently they sent me some aftermarket springs. Maybe thats the reason why it cracked and gave out.

air springs

Should I go the the stealer and order the air springs or is there a company ( arnott is 1 that I find) that makes a quality one?
I will be doing this next weekend hopefully.:dunno:

I would just go with arnotts. They are really good. Just remember, after you finish installing the springs and you are ready to lower the car from the jack. Make sure to lower it really slow so that the sensor turns on and starts to inflate the bags slowly. I did this by letting the wheels barely touch the ground. As the bags inflated I would lower the car a little more. I'm pretty sure my first airsprinfs I installed broke because I lowered the car real fast and cracked the top of the spring. Good luck.

Agreed with the Arnotts. I ordered mine off Amazon (not from the Arnott website) they were quite a bit cheaper and free shipping - so be sure to price shop on Amazon.

guys I am a newb and wanted to confirm the expected behavior.

Air pump turns on every time I start my X5 in the morning, visibly raising the rear by an inch or so. Looks like the bags may be losing some air overnight. Is this a normal/expected behavior?

Temps are dropping to 50's overnight, and wondering if airbags are expected to lose even more air overnight during colder temps
