Needs to be 4 inches lower and have much smaller wheel openings. Bigger wheels would help but there's a limit to how big you can go.

so the x6 is just like the x5 with less trunk space?

i think the two major benefits are the looks and the handling. it's supposed to be a MUCH better performer and handler.

Yes. bit it is also wider, longer, heavier, and has fewer seats. Oh, and it costs more. It does have some technical advances in terms of engines and drivetrain, which won't come to the E70 until next year's models.

Which begs the question:

After all that talk about getting the X6 wazzz up with your not getting it? Did i miss your explanation???

So why would anyone ever get a 335 coupe?

It's wider than the sedan... two less doors AND one seat less! And it costs more!!!

It's amazing that the car even sells!

What! You're kidding right??

The 335i Coupe is a GREAT car :zoom: I took a test drive in one and I loved it. Unfortunately, I could only buy one car at this time so I went for the X5 4.8i instead.

Poor comparison IMO, the 3er is geared for an entry level BMW buyer who wants a choice of either a coupe or sedan with a variety of motors (328, 335) where as the X6 will be expensive, carry four doors like a sedan, look like a pseudo-suv yet have very little usable space, ride lower then a X5 so lessening the ground clearance making the SUV part even less useful...etc.

I guess if LeMans is right, and he usually is, they don't intend to sell a whole lot anyway, much like the 6er, if that is the case that is all well and good but the X6 is still fugly compared to the E70 IMO.

While I recognize sarcasm ;) , I think you are on to something.

A 335xi coupe is everything that an X6 should be, in a 3 series. Hence my suggestion that if it was built on a 5 series platform (ie 6 series) and was a two-door coupe, not so heavy, and not confused by its SUV heritage, it could stand on its own. As it is it just seems to be in search of an identity.
