Bamboo

I'd be concerned with the posts too - for me I figure it's only a matter of time till I scratch it up myself - then I'd be like DOH... I knew that was going to happen. Maybe go back an look at how bad the pics look of the aluminum trim that is scratched most and see if you think you would be ok with it looking like that. Good you still have some time to work this out.

Excited for you, pretty cool!

It's the buy vs lease thing. If I was buying it, the bamboo would be my choice hands down. Since I lease, I figure I have the opportunity to try something different without worrying about long term commitment.

True, I hadn't thought of it that way. Then the day after picking it up you can start deliberating what's next and if it gets scratched (still trying to take great care of it of course) you aren't so emotionally attached that it matters a great deal. Smart. A bit more $ to go this way but you get that great new car smell frequently and get to drive the newest and greatest if you want. So it sounds like you might have your answer?

The day after  I'm already thinking what's next. New 6er with xdrive.

I do take good care of my cars even though they are leased. If I bought used, I'd want to get one of my lease turn ins. I'm not too concerned with little dings and scratches, but I will be replacing the trim if it gets nasty.

Like I said, today Aluminum wins. Can't promise what tomorrow may bring.

Well only (approx) 1344 hours to go then, tick... tick... tick... !

So how did you like your current X5?

I love it. I didn't think I would. I was not a fan of the E70 and only got it because the X6 50i wasn't available yet. I leased it for 2 years as a bridge car to get me to the X6. I really thought BMW blew it when the E70 came out and that handling and power would be lacking with the heavier and bigger design. I WAS WRONG...

This damn trim choice is really getting to me. I keep changing my mind. I think the aluminum will look great, especially once I get my pedals. It's a nice contrast like Weas and Matt said.

Bottom line, do I try something different or take the safe route? Today the choice is try something different. Let's see how I feel tomorrow.

8 weeks from today I'll be driving that bad boy home.

Just be sure that you get the wheels you want. There are changes sometime with year turn over. I had a screw-up on E60 when they changed the sports wheels at turn of year to 17" and 18" was extra money. Dealer did not know that and car was already in production. They had to build another car again from scratch.

Rememeber Steved's issue. ;)

This is style 258.

The kidney grill of car in my signature is how the new 6er grill will be. Its moving away from its bulbulous image.
