Shoot me your cellphone number via PM.

If you do get here in time for a wash on Friday, I can direct you to the nearest place to the hotel or the nearest place to wherever dinner is. I washed my X5 tonight but I'm sure it'll get dirty during the week while the wife is driving it. Oh well. I'll have to give it a quick bath later in the week.

Thanks for the directions. Guess i better get out a map or at least see where Navi takes me with a pre-plotted course. The way you describe it seems simple enough although where to pick up 210 from I-10 I will have to look up. Will be at AAA tomorrow. :)

You won't hit the 10 until you've come down the 15 from the 210. You'll pick up the 10 at San Bernardino so you'll have avoided the LA stuff. You will likely slow down considerably on the 10 when you hit Redlands. For some reason it totally bogs down there and then opens right back up. Strange....

Schweet My X5 got detailed friday

Quicksilver 10-23-2006 02:15 PM

Not a complaint but it's courious how folks from SoCal see the need to insert THE in front of highway numbers.

Man, you're a picky dude aren't you? ;)

The "the" in front of "10" is necessary unless you have "I" in it as in "I-10". Otherwise it sounds weird to say "take 210 to 15 to 10". It's like how car companies try to personify cars by saying stuff like "Camry is the best car in its class". On the other hand, saying "take the Interstate 210 to the Interstate 15 to the Interstate 10" is bananas. There the "the" is superfluous.

Then again, maybe we're thinking to much about this. :tsk:

Great for the X5 but I hope you got detailed too. Don't want to show up less than primped do you?

Actually not picky at all. I need a writing class in all honesty. (I violate the your You're usage all the time);)

In fact what sounds weird to you is what we in NorCal do all the time. Example from pleasanton take 580 to 680 north, then west on 24 to 580, then head west on 80 towards San francisco. Notice THE is not used once in reference to any interstate. THE is not necessary to state the abvious.

Don't take it personally. I use to Live in SoCal. Graduated from Gardena High so i have always noticed those little cultural FUN differences. :) I didn't mean to make a big deal out of it. We NorCal folks notice it sometime and we like to give our SoCal neighbors what for in jest.:nanana: But we still love ya:rofl:

No offense taken and now that you mention it, the NorCal thing is so true. My wife went to grad school up there and I have a sister up there so I've spent my share of time on 680 and 24. :D It didn't even occur to me. Sometimes NorCal and SoCal are like two seperate states.

Quicksilver 10-24-2006 04:12 AM

How true how true.
