Hi LVR,

I don't quite understand, if you order a sports pack on a 3.0d you get sports seats, comfort seats are a option at a extra cost. I think what you are sayng is if you order a 4.8is V8 they will give you the sports pack with sports seats because they cannot deliever on the comforts seats. That maybe fine but for people who order a sports pack & comfort seats you get jack sit, that is take sports seat or don't buy the car, real nice.

So there compensation for some but not all?

No, he was saying if you order a Sports Pack (although we were talking about a 4.8... I didn't ask if that was across all models), the Comfort seats are INCLUDED at no extra cost. The comment came because I was questioning the value of the Sports pack when all I want are the wheels. Black out trim is neither here nor there to me, and the seats are going to be comfort regardless of the wait for me, and from what I've read on the forum the sports suspension is a bit of a harsh ride.... like the E53.

He then said "well the comfort seats are included at the moment until they get back up and running with the supply, no extra" I questioned him by asking again if that meant paying for the comfort seats and he said, "no, they are included for the moment so you can order the sports pack".......

Bit the bullet as I now have a young family and decided to trade in the 330ci - I just ordered my new x5 on the weekend - 3.0d executive, saphire black/saddle brown bamboo trim sports pack, 20inch wheels, xenons/adaptive/high beam assist, running boards, panaromic sunroof, comfort windscreen/anti dazzle mirrors.

I thought I swung a pretty good deal with a corporate discount - knocked about $10k off the recommended retail (but who really knows)

Spent some time today listeing to the difference between the standard stereo and the hifi loudspeaker system- couldnt really hear any noticable difference, would like to know if anyone has heard the hifi 12

I was told delivery will be Aug/Sept but with no guarantees

Still have a week to finalise colours (toss up is between the black and the space grey) Look forward to see everyones pics.

I did see a saddle brown interior at the dealer - looks fantastic (like an individual option)

What sort of corp discount was that ?

Was that $10k off including that $6k Dealer delivery that AC are quoting ?

Thanks

So if our sports pack equipped vehicle docks on Sunday, it may have comfort seats? :dunno: Wishfull thinking on my part.

Will this new diesel replace the existing unit? I thought the current diesel was a fairly new design? Can somone please confirm.

Stunning car. The two tone interior is fantastic. Not too long ago this would have been a special order for BMW and Benz.

The car comes standard with a Nokia 6233 phone and cradle (on backorder), you can dial any numbers from your phone memory just by saying the name (exactly) as it is listed in your address book. It works straight up fairly accurately but you're stuffed if you have abbreviated names as you will have to say the abbreviation exactly. Will post some pics soon. Cheers!

Really the phone comes with the car?

Does your car have the standard sports suspension or the adaptive drive suspension? How is the ride quality?

jamesboags 05-01-2007 05:49 PM

I've been told I get a phone with my 3.0d executive as well... although it is not listed on my order ..!

I don't have adaptive drive just the sports susp., the ride is softer than my old 4.4. It handles much better and very little body roll. The adaptive may give a softer ride when not in sport mode but if you don't mind the stiffer ride than save some $$ and just get the sport pack. By the way the cradle out of my 4.4 for nokia 6230i fits in the 4.8.
