Tulley BMW, Nashua, NH
My service advisor is Jay Van Sciver. He's great too. Anyway, I think Tulley is great. I've always gotten a loaner, even on short notice, except one time. www.tulleybmw.com

well, i bought my m roadster there in 2001.
i walked in and placed $1000 down for the allocation for june 2001 (this was may 2001). they had a blue m roadster (my LSB M roadster) which belonged to the dealership. it was in the center of the showroom of the new showroom, and that was the same model/spec i wanted. i placed a deposit for it early one week, then returned the following week to order (spec) the colors. when i got there, my allocation for june which i had plunked down $1000 for had been given away. the next M roadster they would get would have been August. i would have missed the entire summer. needless to say, i was with my attorney at the time, who walked in with me. 3 hours later i left with tulley's BMW M roadster minus a nice premium for the misunderstanding. their parts department in the past is not always very accurate. never had much service done there. did also have a situation with my 4.4i which was purchased in chicago and delivered to tulley. it was the first 4.4 in the state of NH back in aug 2000. my dealership in chicago had PAID them to prep and deliver the car including place mats, and they were trying to get me to pay for the mats even though i had a voucher and receipt. took me calling the owner to straighten things out. also, the car was poorly prepped, and delivered without a tank of gas. also, it had 3 rear rim/tire setup (1 rear tire in the front), and 1 front tire in the front. it came from the factory and this was missed. it took almost an act of congress to get tulley to get the bmw regional rep to correct the situation. i have heard good things about peabody BMW which is just over the border in MA. FYI! also, dealt with the guys on the coast for parts.. name escapes me. they were better at that than tulley.... |

Wow... I've never had anything majorly bad happen to me while dealing with them. I've heard of other people having bad things happen but not me. I guess I'm lucky. I've heard good things about Peabody, too, but I'm not goign to drive that far lol.
The one on the coast is Dreher-Holloway. PeteG uses that dealer. We went there a few years back when shopping for a car for my mom and it was impressive. The reason I bought from Tulley is that I can get there faster... It's right off the highway.

Here's my random thoughts:
I had a good sales rep when I bought the 330; he's since left for Dreher-Holloway. Most of the people I've talked to there since are not as good. I had thought about buying an X5 3.0 from them at one point, but they wouldn't move off retail price. Almost 30 days later, they wanted to deal. Sorry, too late. Service is so-so. I check everything after they work on the car because they have not always tightened everything afterwards. I have to take the 330 in for it's 1 year service and to (hopefully) replace the radio (bad pixels when cold) so we'll see what happens. They've also washed the car when I've asked them not to and scratched the paint. Everything has been done when promised. When I bought my 528 and had them do the Inspection I, they missed a bunch of items I ended up having to fix later, some very simple. Example: I was getting weeping from the power steering reservoir. It turned out my replacing the $2 O-ring on the fill cap fixed the problem. Tulley told me "it was normal" for it to do that. Feh. Unlike Joel, I never get a BMW loaner. Always some American POS. Oh they are 4 or so miles from my house so that is a plus. Parts department has been fine. They give the CCA discount. I don't know if I would buy there again; since I am not enamoured by any of the new design BMWs (unless a M5 Touring ever became a reality ), it's doubtful I will have to worry. All future work on the 528 will be done by myself or an independent mechanic.

Now that I think of it, there was one thing that they did that pissed me off... I had PDC and OEM chrome exhaust tips put on the X5 at the same time. They told me it would take about three days. It took three weeks! They kept saying they had forgotten to order the right harness, etc. Then when I finally picked it up I was happy... Until I got home. I realized that there was a mid-size scratch on the bumper and a big-ass dent in the exhaust tip. I called and they said it was my fault and that I had probably backed into something... The funny thing is that I didn't back up ONCE between the dealer and my house, and they had just installed PDC so if there was anything big enough to do that damage the sensors would have picked it up... They never admitted it was their fault, so I just gave up and lived with it....
Actually, I just thought of another. When I had the iPodyourBMW adaptor and PDC put on the 330, that took way longer than expected, too. And, of course, the iPod thing didn't work. So, I had to bring the car back three days later (I live 45 miles away) and they looked at it for about 20 minutes and discovered they forgot to plug something in!

Thats too bad. Our BMW dealer... Global Imports BMW is awesome!!! When we had our car repaired from hail damage Global Imports referred us to Magnum Collision repair. Well they did not put the car back together properly. Needless to say I was pissed off and gave Global a call. They came by and picked up the car, gave us a loaner, and fixed it themselves; even thou they where not the ones who screwed it up. Hopefully they will also throw in a protective Bra at a discount.

I have mostly positive experiences... Just every once in a while they go and do something really stupid that makes me want to switch over to Dreher-Holloway... But it's such a long drive Actually it's not that much longer but the drive to Tulley is all freeway driving so its nice and fun

Tulley is my regular dealership and I can only say good things about their service. They've been servicing my X5 since day one and Bryan Mahoney has done a great job. I never had any issues with warranty or work orders. They also don't 'scratch wash' my car
Their sales department has gone through some rough times and I think their current sales force is better than the old one but there's still room for improvement. However they are honest and aren't charging premiums for sought after cars such as the new M5 or M6 . - Jan

I had a good experience today when I brought my 330xi in for a problem.. This morning when I parked at school I noticed that my parking brake wasn't working. I called Tulley right then. I had to go to Nashua anyway that afternoon for an appointment at 4. They told me to bring it in at 3:30. I got there at 3:35 or so and they had my on my way about 15 minutes later. Good experience.

Went to Tulley a week or so ago to do the oil change, state inspection and check the bad pixels on the radio. They replaced the radio with no questions asked that day, which was nice and unexpected. (Still no loaner car though :p )
