hello, found this link.. BMW dials for your speedometer they say the have the e36, white gauge face... they look the same as x5. but im not sure.. can some one confirm that the e36 and e53 have the same layout.....

I can get almost any BMW dial replacement for about $100, all dials shown above are made in Germany. Made the same way as BWM OEM dials from matte anti-reflective plastic. Most of them use night oem light glow. The problem is that they come only in Km and Liters. Only dials from E38 and E39 will fit X5

No, e36 and e53 are not the same layout (physical dimensions not even close)

Seems like a lot of time and hassle why not just buy a 4.6is ? this way you get your gauges the high output motor and the factory bodykit with the flared fenders that everybody wants oh and don't forget the 10.5" wide wheels !! thats what I did !! just joshin folks....
