The only thing that makes me leery of the Continentals is they are all an all weather vs a summer or performance tire or something. I don't need all weather since we don't get snow...ever, lol. Are they still recommended in that case?

Well, its like this. If you go the SUMMER tire route (which I did with Vreds), you will probably get 15K out of the rears and 30K out of the fronts. I go through 2 sets of rears for each set of fronts.

You can do this safely with the 2004+ models as it allows for some leeway - unlike the older models which have a locked front/rear ratio.

If you go with ALL-SEASON you might get 30K on a set of front AND rears.

If you have the pre-facelift models, then you will have to replace all four corners at the same time.

Its all in what you want. Do you want summer tire's better performance but faster tire wear? Or the adaptability of the all-seasons and longer wear?

Keep in mind that if you go the summer tire route, you will probably need another set of wheels/tires for winter time.

I won't need any winter wheels/tires. I do like the more mileage out of the DWS's though. I'll have to do some research on both and see which would be better. I have a 09 48i w/ sports package

Those mileage figures were more for 2006 and below. I have no idea on tire wear on the 2007 and later models. Might want to check in the E70 forum.

Apparently my brain stops thinking about X5s after 2006. LOL! Sorry about that.

Haha, it's all good. I doubt they would be that different. Either way, I'm ready for a group buy of some sort. Either will be better than the ones w/ <15% tread life
