Currently these are not currently available in Europe, but our information shows they should be around again in a few months!

We found a few options, but from what my parts guys found they require coding in order to function which will be a DIY project. PM me if you're still interested.

Your in luck! The E53 is a lot easier than the E70. On most E53s the only thing needed is the switch found HERE.

Are you serious? So unlike the E46 or E39, the X5 is prewired for rearfogs?

No it isn't. I did a bunch of research. You need the trailer/hitch module, then run wires from driver side to pass side. then depending on your year and model, you might have to deal with the rear tails to get the bulb holder in.

Trailer module is not cheap, then this, then the work. Really not as easy as some make it sound.

As a matter of fact, even if you get a switch that does not have the little green light for the dynamic headlight, it will not kill the active part of the headlights, it still will continue to operate both in horizontal plane as well as in vertical plane - you will lose that little LED light on the switch, that's all... How do I know? when I transferred the switch without the LED from my 2002 E53 (no active headlights) to the 2006 E53 (active headlights), the functionality of the headlights did NOT change, they still operate as designed, even though I was worried...

There might be a considerable (or not so considerable) price difference between the switch with the LED vs the one without the LED... just opens up the options in search for a switch...
