Finally got new tires..over $1400!!!

I paid $740 out the door for a set of 4 on mine. Went back down to 235 from 255. 17" stock rim

Hey Tapia, did you ever go back like I suggested? If not, you basically just let them win, which I personally wouldn't have done. Hopefully you got some money refunded or a whole TON of free oil changers and pre-paid services.

That's just the price in Seattle. For the area in question, you didn't get ripped off. I was quoted the same as you paid for 19".

I would see what other places charge and then go back to les shwab and ask if they can price match. I think this is reasonable and something that most shops do. I will be curious to hear what you think of the new tires after you get a few thousand miles on them. I have heard mixed things about them. Keep us posted!!

Got a flat last week, took it to goodyear, and they quoted me $480 for 1 tire!

19" ?

I may be wrong, but I think this is because the X5 and the land rover are the only vehicles that used 19" truck tires. Since the newer models don't anymore, the price of replacing them in the future will continue to climb. It is time to move to and 18" or 20" or some more common rim size.

i got my set of 20's tires prox II for around $700 and installed em on my 87's for $40. and thanks for the ppl here on Xoutpost.

I searched them for tires that would fit a 2002 4.4i sport package with 19' wheels and here is what I found;

First of all, they don't carry the rears 285/45/19 in the Toyo.

Fronts are $193.20 a piece or $386.40 a pair. Plus $32.96 at the cheapest shipping rate. If you were to double that (which will still be cheaper than the cost of the wider rears) you are at $838.72 for four. Plus you will have to pay someone an installation/balancing fee and a used tire disposal fee. So, like I said $1,100 isn't that bad out the door for 19's.

When I add up the cost of 4 tires from this place and add shipping and road hazzard it comes to $952.00. I would then have to pay someone to mount and balance them plus a tire disposal fee. That's going to put the cost closer to $1100 or even higher. What happens if I get a defective tire? I've read on this forum where this has happened. Plus what happens if I need to have a claim on the road hazzard warranty? Who covers that? The installer or TiresDirect? I can see a hassel there. I think I'll spend the extra money and get the Michelins locally. I've always been pleased with Michelins as far as handling, wear, quietness.

I'm going to need new tires soon and I checked BJ's for Michelin Latitude HP's. $407.00 for the 315 35 20's rear and $365.00 for the 275 40 20's front. That includes mounting, balancing and road hazard warranty. That's about the best deal I can find unless someone can tell me otherwise.
