Personally, I've always hated the look of clear bras, however, I might have a change of heart with the X5 ///M.

Any idea when option pricing will be released or when dealers will start to receive additional information?
I spoke to "my guy", and he is going to try to get me a brochure tomorrow, or send me a PDF version.

The M tour was in town today and I was anxious to see the X///Ms in the flesh so I particpated. Very cool program, kudos to BMW for it! Can't wait til these hit the dealerships so I can test drive one; The E92 M3 I got to drive was very impressive so I have no doubt these new generation X's will be no different.

To quote the brand manager's speech:
"If you like naturally aspirated M cars, well... enjoy today"

@ Ft Lauderdale Antique Car Museum

550+ green HP?

Red needles, Tricolor stitching, DCT paddles, Carbon trim, and ///M logo on gear lever are nice touches to remind you you're in an M car.

Love this combo. Just like my first '99 M3 with Dove Grey interior

No roof racks!

I wonder if Bridgestones will be standard instead of Michelins now?
Also note, 4 piston calipers.

In person it is virtually indistinguishable from Estoril Blue.

I noticed something interesting: These X's have technically not been built yet! Obvioulsly these are the same two showcars that have been spotted around the last few weeks yet they have July 09 production stickers....
(these were taken today, 6-20-09)

Maybe production starts next month? He said these are the fastest accelerating models BMW has produced yet!

Nice! Call it anything they want but I bet it's basically the same formula as Estoril. You see a recuring theme don't you? Maybe I should go slap sone ///M emblems on my 4.8is lol

You can compare the color difference between Estoril and Monte Carlo to difference between Jerez and Carbon black.

I guess the official production is supposed to start late July....therefore the labels.

Holy crap that is one sexy beast! I have already gotten past the mono colored front even before seeing it in person. And seeing those dueler HPs on it makes me feel good inside because that is the exact tire in the same sizes I am planning on buying as my next set... killa.

I just put a set of Dueler H/P on my Denali, and they are a very good set. Good on the road, and off the road as well as on bad road conditions.
Are these runflats on the X5M?

Looks like it, I see the RSC in the pics above right by the valve stem, then found that exact tire on tirerack in runflat, and it says "for bmw oem use only"

Seems like that black Rahal truck is official car mover for the M-tour.

The looks have grown on me but I would get with the roof rails.

Yeah it looks like same transport rig from NorCal (attached).

RE: the roof rails, I totally agree! I too will probably go with the low profile black roof rails. However, I will install them after delivery so that I can retain the factory painted roof rail caps (had this problem with my Rover HSE).

Also, did you notice the blue X5M has some type of black film on the kick panels. That might be a nice option as the painted surface will get trashed by passanger feet and/or daily use.

I'm dying to see a picture of the X5 ///M swing out trailer hitch ball. A trailer hitch will be a must for the race car.

Also, regarding the tires. Once these stocks are worn I will probably swap to the Michelin Diamaris tires from my 4.8is. Even though they wear quickly, I get the best response from them in high-speed mountain roads. Also the optional space saver spare will be a must to eliminate the run-flats.

The black film is on the current X5 M Sport model. It is a black strip which is listed as paint protector under the part # and it also works as a grip while getting in and out. I have never actually stepped on it because I don't want the side skirt to fall off.
