beautiful the AW is definitely the best color for that car. Tint out the front windows and you'll be set!

I think the black looks more agressive but the white is very clean and classy looking! I saw a white X6M in person and it changed my views about the X6 after seeing it in the M version. Another benefit of going with white is that you can get black leather and it still looks good while you're saving a lot of money. The extended leather alone (such as the Shakir Orange or Cinnamon) is a $4,500 option in Canada!

The black with carbon leather is dark - I like it, but some might prefer a lighter interior.

One of the dealers in CA had a white over beige - I didn't like it that much.

Black does look great - I've been down that road before.. white is a better option for how I use it.

I didn't feel that the full leather (dash/console/door uppers/etc) was necessary.

Thanks for the nice comments all

Yes, took it out for about 30 quick miles

First impressions:

Interior - Nice, but not close to $92K nice. Hey BMW, how about real carbon fiber? Faux aluminum? In an M vehicle? Shameful, really. My wife's 335xi has real aluminum trim. I didn't pop for the full leather, but I didn't want a full leather dash or door tops in snow country. Seats are comfy and supportive. I like the heads up - hard to see with sunglasses on even at max brightness. The 'M' button could be bigger, but I plan to drive it in 'M' mode all of the time, so this isn't an issue for me.

Stereo - Very nice. Excellent actually. A huge upgrade from the premium sound on my '06 4.4.

iDrive - Excellent. Really. Again, giant leap forward from the E53's UI and also a nice improvement over the '07-'09 E70. Worth the wait on the 3.0 and 4.8 E70 if you're not pressed for an '09.

Looks - Stunning (in person). Aggressive for all angles - in particular the front. Pictures really don't do these ///X5/6M's any justice - as I'm sure you know. The wheels take a beating online because of the configurator and launch pics. They look huge in person. Hell, they are as wide as my Z06 wheels, aka no joke.

Driving - Very impressive. Docile in non-M mode and taught in 'M' mode. Exhaust difference is slight IMO, but I'm used to driving some really loud vehicles Kept my foot out of it < 5K rpms.. You can tell she wants to go, and I'm eager to see how quick she is on full boost. I can say that this truck (and I'm sure your ///X6M) is deceptively fast. I was cruising easily at 100+ without any real sense of speed. That can be good or bad depending on how fast you want your vehicle to feel. For me, it's just fine. I do like the combination of 'Drive' or 'Sport' + the 'M' mode with or without paddle shifting. Gives the driver the option to loaf along or hit the 'M', grab a paddle and enjoy an SUV that handles way, way better than you would imagine it could. I took a quick cloverleaf that I usually take at 55mph (7-10ths) in my Z06 with the ///X5M at the same speed. Had quite a bit more in her and I don't know the truck that well to push it. Great balance and corners quite flat for a 5300lb vehicle. Should be quite a performer with some more seat time.

All in all - An excellent vehicle: The technology package - rear/top cameras/iDrive/nav/stereo w/ real iPod integration (finally) rocks. Looks great, performs (promises to perform) great. BMW needs to put about $2K worth of aluminum and carbon on this line to equal the std. interior of the M5. With that done, very little to nit-pick at this point.

More to come after i get her broken in.

Nice job BMW (so far).
