Is it just me or is it a bit over complicated?

I mean, what was wrong with the last generation type that I had on the X5 4.8is.

This thing, you have to push buttons, then you forget to push buttons and the cpu says, "push the button". Then you drive in D and you can upshift a gear but if you drive in D and downshift a gear it puts you in neutral.

I mean, why fix it if it ain't broke. Just seems to me that the new gear shift is technology for the sake of technology but doesn't actually do anything better. Just makes stuff more complicated.

p.s. - There's too many states now a days.. Can't we just have 46-47? Alaska, pffffft.
