Ohh man only if more states adopted that.

I drive to MI on a regular basis...enjoy the higher speed limit and lack of cops on the highways. Triple digits every time

Coming back to Ohio is a different story...within the first 5 miles i'd see highway state patrol shooting X-band lmao

I used double sided tape. It fell off in the garage about 5 days later.
Use 3M heavy duty double sided tape (red color). I am using it for all my license plates, and it has never come off.

We have cameras every km here in Dubai. Most people drive the speed limit or about 10 km over the limit, but the few people that like to speed rack up quite a bill at the end of the year. We just slow down before the camera, but you miss some or aren't able to slow down in time, then TICKET!!
The government made $180 Million from speeding fines in 2008 and probably double or more for 2009.

We have 7 cars in my family, and lets just say that it is UNBELIEVABLE how much our fines and points came to for 2009. We were speeding, so we paid them... but Be Cautious when driving in Dubai!!

Edit: And 0 tickets in Los Angeles

This was a great thread!! I just bought my first X5 on 31 December. I was coming home last night from washing the salt off of it. There are some hills on the way to my house. I was speeding for two reasons; dry the car and my 4 year old loves to get tickled over those hills . I have to go about 70 to make it a good tickle. Over the third hill, bam! looser state patrol wasting tax payer dollars sitting there. I guess that is what I get for having such a fun car 66 in a 35!!!

Here in Columbia, MO we are averaging well over 3 burglaries a day and these lazy SOBs are sitting on a corner clocking something wrong with that picture.

Without a Laser Jammer it is risky to speed. Only time I've been ticketed in the last 5 years when when my Jammer was inadvertently turned off. If I lived in a state where it was illegal, I would still install the most stealthy one I could find ....maybe the one by Escort. If you got hit you could immediately turn it off while hitting your powerful squeaky brakes. The cop would get no reading initially and then a normal mph reading. It does not test nearly as well as the Blinder or Interceptor but still WAY better than nothing.

I do what I can within the law to avoid detection - eg, Valentine 1 in every car I own, but beyond that it's going to have to be up to the Gods.

I drive fast daily and faster in my Z06 so I understand that on occasion I'll cop (intended) a ticket.

Pay to play.

It could be worse. You could be driving in Virginia. But like you said, the best way to think of it is simply a road tax, and move on from there.

So this is getting off topic, but what's a good choice for radar detectors and/or jammers. I've got the same radar detector in the X that I've had since high school, but I know what sounds to listen for and it's saved me more than once. Ive read lightly here and there about Escort, VOne, etc but at the end of the day I just wanna know what will cover me the best. I'm pretty good at looking for cops, using the gears to slow down instead of slamming on the brakes and giving it away when they see my headlights dive or my taillights come on when they pull the trigger, but I'm using such an old detector now. I'd to know what will get me worry even less.

Thank you everyone so much for making me feel better about my ticket!!! If you ever figure out how to write it off, let us all know. Maybe as part of our home owners' taxes; since that is where the money for these tickets go anyway.
