My 4.6 "feels" faster than my M sometimes. There are also days where it's more fun to drive too.

No comparison - in any way, shape, or form, IMHO.

Have you ever driven 4.4 or 4.8is? I'd like to know how feel these two cars comparing to the 4.6is. I have the 4.4 but never driven other two. I think that the 4.6 should be the more agressive (like feeling of acceleration, right)?

i have driven the 4.4 & the biggest noticable difference (besides the looks) is the feeling in the gearing/kick it has. So like you said " more agressive acceleration".

I havent driven a 4.8is yet..( im looking to pick one up for the x5 stable .)

i took my M & 4.6is out over the weekend ,I was thinking of this post so
I took a spin around a lake near my house with both cars and i still stand by that the 4.6is "feels" faster during certain situations... the fun factory
i still stand by as well..but that' just me.

That said, the M owns the 4.6is in every way.....

Not a chance. Our old 4.6is has NOTHING on the M, in any way.

The only circumstance I can think of realistically, where the 4.6is MIGHT feel faster, is if one drove each respective vehicle off a cliff, and you had three of your rather rotund friends with you in the 4.6, and not in the M.

Just at times when the M is in normal mode , hit the M button and youll go back in time and forget you owned the 4.8is..

How is this for a comparison: My most recent Viper 550+hp after mods and I was never impressed by the power 'feel'. 3400 lbs 8.4 liter V-10 with that hp and torque should have scared me every time. People riding in the passenger seat also unimpressed. The past three 135's I've had have all shocked me with the acceleration feel, almost scary at times. Passengers have all commented "this thing is wicked fast!" 300hp and 3400 lbs. Strange to say the least.

Reading these comments, i almost don't want to buy the XM...

I used to have 4.8is and that thing used to be miles sportier then my current 4.8i fully loaded.

If there is no real sensation during acceleration, than it's a waste to buy it.

Then i would think about getting ML63 AMG or Cayenne turbo S at least they dont sound like a 4 cilinder Ford Mondeo
