Rear Entertainment. I did something slightly different and more cost effective. Too dark now to get good pics. Will try in AM.

Well, they were asking for my opinions...
![]() I still love the X5M. Keep watching here to see if the same problems keep presenting themselves. Also, looking to see what, if any, updates come this way. |

Looks-wise, the new Cayenne seems to be better overall than the last generation, which looked like a bloated toad. Jason, yours is definitely one of the better looking Cayennes I've seen. Front and side look good...back end on the new ones looks it came from a different car, although it looks good in your pics.
It sucks that you had bad luck with your X5M...seems to be the luck of the draw. I've had essentially no problems with my X5. I'm sure you'd find Cayenne owners with similar experiences that switched to the X5. I like the interior of the X5 especially with the leather dash, although I'd agree the switchgear and other components on the Porsche are higher quality...but then again they should be considering the higher price. Looking at my next car, I'd still have trouble talking myself into the Cayenne...I'd rather have an X5 50i (plus chip) and an M3 for the price of the CTT.

Looks great. One should not have to spend money to improve exhaust note on 100k car. I hear they have fixed the exhaust note on new M5. Wonder how the uber M6 Gran Coupe will be.

Thanks for the comments, Jason. The X6M was my third BMW truck and the wait for the M variant was worth it. But then the problems started, in a 100,000$ truck, you do not expect leather color fade, holes appearing in the seat, stitching pulling apart, rear camera failure, sunroof deflector problems, and then the dreaded engine whine......this will be the second take back in three X models I have owned.
So like Jason, I'm changing to another brand, hopefully a more reliable one. The Cayenne looks way better than the previous model, the interior is more stylish than the stale looking M interior, and yes, the exhaust plays a killer tune. One thing I'll miss for sure, are those damn gorgeous 215s in ferric grey.... Cheers,

Those SportEdition 21 inch wheels are beautiful, but I love the light weight and grey colour of the Turbo II's. Also check out HRE. They have several wheel options that are great for the Cayenne.

Yep, My friend has a Cayenne. same color as my X too. I love the back part, but overall Not feeling it too much. The new Cayenne is alot better looking. Front looks great and Interior I am sure has quality more then BMW. However I love the X5M interior, iDrive and Heads up display. As of now, I personally would get X5M over Cayenne. And I can guess why youre not getting any headaches from your Cayenne... BMW just doesn't give a shit!
