My 2013 has the LED lights. I don't think I'd like another vehicle without them. I drove a 2015 X3 loaner while mine was in the shop. What a difference between the LED and non LED lights.

Did the loaner vehicle have Halogen or Xenon HID?
There's a huge difference between Halogen an Xenon.... Not sure how different Xenon and LED are. . . . . Yet

They were the Xeon I believe. My wife's TBSS has the Xeon and although bright they are not as clear and bright as the LED on the M. The amount of crisp clear light from the LED is great for nighttime driving.

OEM Bi-Xenons are awesome.
Aftermarket or fake Xenons.... not so much. If the TBSS had Xenons, they were either the fake ones or an ebay aftermarket kit because it was not an available OEM option for that vehicle. So yes, they probably did suck. I have not experienced LED headlights yet,, but I can't imagine they would offer a significant improvement over Xenons (or at least not as much improvement as Xenon over Halogens), but they are the next generation of lighting and they sure look cool!

Oops you are correct. They are Halogens. I was typing and thinking of something else.
The Halogen lights on her truck are okay but not anything as clear and bright as the LED. The LED lights have a clear white light where the Halogens are a soft yellowish light. After driving with the LED it is difficult to adjust back to the regular light. Thanks for the correction on the TBSS lights. We bought it new so it has not been modified with a different light.

The BMW LEDs are definitely brighter than BMW Xenons. I have both in house and seen them side-by-side.
