OK... so while I am waiting for my harness to arrive, I can use the existing vehicle harness to power the LED Headlights; Only Low Beam, Turn signals and LED DRLs will work?

I don't have to buy a newer version FRM module?

In reading the retrofit document, BMW's ISTA tool can update the module without replacement.

Hmmmmm wait, can't we access ISTA online for $30 a day or something?

Chris
So is it true that BMW's ISTA tool can update the existing module in my vehicle without replacement?

Gixxer - this is great news!

Nope, you need a special diagnostic head that is $1700 to use bmwtis online. Forget it.

Yes,Yes everything will work other than your highbeams, also as long as you have a FRM3 and does not have to be the latest Autologic will Code it in to work with your LED lights.if you have a FRM2 then you will not be able to code it.I am waiting on some pigtails to come in from BMW so i can pin the 2 remaning wires that are missing off the stock harness.

Tony I assume your shop has a Autologic diagnostic tool?

If so, would you be able to briefly post the steps in the Autologic tool (screens to go to) to get this done so that I could give the steps to a shop in my area that has it.

Chris

OK.... so I have confirmed that my shop has the Autologic diagnostic tool.
What are the steps needed to code the FRM?
Should the tech know how to do this?

Gixxer - Still wondering if I should wait until the harness arrives to do everything at once.

Sure when I get back from Vacations I will not mind posting some pics for you guys. Also the good thing about our shops having Autologic is that we also have the support we need to get any retrofit done as long as it's OEM.If it makes it any easier or helps you guys get ahead before I get back from my Vacation, tell your local shop to call Techical support for their Autologic and ask For Either Nelson or Rob(we all have the same tech support guys) I deal with Nelson a lot and he help me a lot when it came to coding with the Autologic.lmk if you guys anymore help.

Thank you, we really appreciate it! It's a waste buying a new module if it can be software upgraded. I'd rather give a local shop some business than to BMW with another module
