Hard 1-2 shift

I did a quick search and didn't see much. I was just wondering if everyone's X shifts like mine does. Now I do want to mention that I LIKE the way it shifts, but wow, it seems to shift hard sometimes!

Specifically what I'm asking about is if you start out from being stopped and get into the gas a bit, pushing the revs to about 5K, when it shifts from 1st to 2nd, it shifts so hard it almost feels like a BANG. At lower RPMS and in manual mode, it shifts much more smoothly. Is this how all the Steptronics shift?
