Ok, first here is a picture of my 04' split front fender. (Very good explanation provided by simoncpw btw...)
And here is my sticker on the door right UNDER the tire pressure sticker... My X3 was built in 03/04 = March 2004. And thus falls into the 10/03 - 08/04 04' MY category. If your X3 was built in 09/04 and onwards it would be an 05' or 06'. You really are making this a lot harder then it needs to be... |

Yes, I'm sure that I have bluetooth. I have been using that with two different phones. Also, there is only one piece bumper - no cutting line like in the picture.
And about the tag, there is none. That must be some other country law that insist that tag to be on drivers door sill. Thanks for the hints. Now I know that I have 2005 model X3 instead of 2004 |

Not to change the topic but WTF was the split fender for anyway? How in the world would it possibly save BMW any money to have to design and mount two separate pieces?

I heard that it was meant to be a 1 piece fender all along, but that there was a complication at the last minute, and so a two piece fender was used for the first model year...

That sticker is a confirmation that the vehicle meets CMVSS (Canada) or FMVSS (USA) standards. Sticker is not used in EU.
