Would be nice if that was available here / with more oomph than a 20d.

Why not a 23d?

M-Sport looks better but the lights still suck.
It is pretty difficult to take the introductory Euro models and extrapolate what will be offered in North America when the vehicle eventually arrives here.

I would have expected to see a manual transmission 35i, at least in Europe, but sadly our options are likely to continue diminishing over time. By the time the F25 gets to North America, it may be a 23d, but I hope they keep it to four cylinders. BMW did say that four cylinder diesels are coming to North America a few months back. If you are going to promote the diesel as the fuel economy option, it only makes sense to get as much fuel economy as you can out of the model. 184 hp and similar torque as the 35i (just not at the same low revs) makes the 20d a reasonable choice IMO. A manual transmission would be nice, but I wouldn't count on it, as they hardly sell any manual transmissions here now, and the cost of certifying the additional configuration may not be worth it for BMWNA and BMW Canada.

Very complete set of pictures, but agree completely that the load up time makes the thread very hard to follow as comments are added. It would be better to perhaps have a discussion thread separate from the photo vault, or a reduced set of photos with a link to the complete package.

I wonder if with the explosion in the number of sub-forums here, whether we are about to get an F25 forum, or whether the E83 X3 forum will cover both models.

Agree, very nice. Wonder where the mudflaps are?

I actually don't mind the black lower body cladding on the regular version, it is very practical. The piece on the rear bumper follows the lines from the sides, and makes the vehicle appear lighter on its feet, less mass. The M looks good in a light colour, but I don't know that I would like it in a dark colour as much.

Way to screw US buyers, impossible to get rid of the ugly orange reflector.

Is it really gonna be orange? That would totally kill sales. They alway fix it by the LCI, but why not have it right to start with. I understand that they'll need something attractive to make the LCI worthwhile, but don't shoot the car in the leg to begin with.

They can't fix it until the US government changes the law requiring it. Kind of hard to blame BMW for meeting DOT regulations.

We are saying put it on the fender like other models.

They did this in the original E90, the headlights always looked like crap because of the orange reflector actually in the headlight assembly. Now the LCI E90 has it on the fender, easy to take care of.

You can tell they will make that part orange, making it very costly to get rid of. Not like getting a color-matched painted reflector set from a vendor.

It is an upgrade in looks over the previous model, but the headlights aren't the best looking. I will agree 100% with MD that the silver one looks way better than the red one. I like the looks of the X1 better to be honest.

I say bring the diesels here fast!

Hate the front. It is only marginally better with the M Sport package.

40d is getting old. Probably the new tri-turbo 45d, that will give some decent oomph.
