Dodge Journey. #06508881AA: BOLT. Mounting. Hex Flange Head. M10x1.25x55.00, M10x55. The bolt is holding transmission to engine and if I can verify is 10.9 grade, it'd be a perfect replacement for about $1 a piece or 10 times less cost than OEM.

As long as they thread back in properly... I'll be reusing the ones that I pull out with the addition of some lock-tite. That is unless someone points to an incident involving doing so that had some sort of adverse effect/consequence.
$75 to some bolts that hold a shield on is not my idea of money needing to be spent. Especially considering the most offroad our X ever gets is the occasional creep over a curb to park in grass or something.

I noticed my front end squeeks like crazy after I reused the same bolts to secure the plate back on...not sure if it has anything to do with the bolts but I incline to think it does since they are torque to yield bolts that stretch upon initial use ; after that, they just become weaker with every removal and installing of the plate.
I hate taking that plate off...

I reused mine with the intention of ordering some and replacing them in the near future. I have not noticed any noises and or handling differences. But I'll find an alternative now since paying that much for bolts is plain stupid.

One thing is for sure, I do agree about not paying that much money for bolts and nuts. More than likely, I'll go with M10X60 10.9 grade from Ace. I'll report back my findings.

I am not sure (or an engineer) but I was thinking they may be designed to shear in the event of an accident for some reason or other. Maybe to aid in collapsing the crumple zones. I am not so much worried about the stress of normal (or even hard driving). But again... lol I am not an engineer.

I have a PhD in engineering and I don't get why these bolts are spec'd like this. I am convinced you would tear that thin aluminum panel long before you would break one of those bolts.

The earlier ones have nice and shiny Alloy pans, the later models get an ugly blackened steel one.....

Now, even if I go with 10.9 grade aftermarket bolts, they're not designed to stretch as OEM so I'm really not sure what can happened.
