Did it increase on your your E70 also?

And thinking about it, I probably would not increase it on a S62. I definitely agree with you, that some engineering is better left alone.

But like you said, maybe 300 rpm’s isn’t an issue.

The gain on the X5M was 70HP and 86TQ without a change in redline.

Great gain! IMHO I don’t see the need for a higher redline on that build, nor the S62.

Like Nick was saying, the ZHP had a 6800 rpm rev limit, so my guess is, there is probably some wiggle room with the M54 for tuning, without harm. But it needs to be done correctly.

By the way, I would really like to get my hands on some ZHP cams! I would have taken them out of mine when I sold it, but I did not want to sacrifice my E53’s.
Well... The crank harmonic issue starts well below 6,800. Depending on who you ask, it's either over 6,000 or over 6,500.

In truth, it's not a huge issue for a street car. But it is a huge issue for a track car.

Here's the reasonably effective solution:

The valvetrain will go higher than the crank will tolerate without additional work in the M54B30.

The fuel system has plenty of room in it. The last BMW that was underinjected was probably the '95 M3.
