I like to "drive the wheels off" our cars (drove a 28yo e30 with ~400,000 miles on it out of town just last month) and we purposely bought the e53 as our out of town travel vehicle. Hence my preventative schedule for the tank and other cooling system components. Each individual's use case scenario can help to form their maintenance practices/habits.

700hp Vipers and ZR1s in the stable, yet I "love" a 12 yr old BMW.

^I wish I could fit in a viper (I'm 6'8"). Or a vette for that matter. My buddy brings his C5 over and I have a hard time even backing the damn thing out of the driveway. I've driven it only a couple of times but was so uncomfortable it was not enjoyable. Even with the 500whp on tap.

Dodge has a kit to mount the seats about 3" lower.
A FL Viper club member installed Sparco seats to fit inside. There's tons of legroom, at 6' 1", I can't reach the pedals with the seat slid back.

OK guys, time to stop
The thread is antifreeze not owners and parts life. They are both short... Close this one down.

FYI, someone that originally said he has not had an expansion tank failure is now saying it is crap.
Trader 4 is off his meds again.
