Advice on ordering correct parts for X5...

(2001 BMW X5 4.4i 189,000 miles)
Mechanic says these parts are bad (quoted $2300 parts and labor; says labor is the bulk of the quote):
1 - Both front lower ball joints
2 - Both front lower tension strut bushings
3 - Left front axle
4 - Right inner tie rod
5 - Left rear sway bar link
I'll order parts but want to make sure I get the right stuff. Most likely buy the parts and let him fix or park it in garage and tackle it myself. Replaced valley pan and valve cover gaskets before so may be able to work up the nerve to do this too.

For items 1 and 2, seems straightforward or should I get a control arm kit?
For item 3 I think I'll just get the axles for both sides.
For item 4 I think I should get both the inner AND outer?
For item 5, straightforward.

ECS, RockAuto, Pelican are a few sights I found to order from unless someone recs another.

Super fast shipping from BavAuto, a bit pricey but they're my goto guys when I want things delivered fast via UPS Ground. If you order before 1pm EST, they ship same day. And if you're on the Northeast, you'll have your parts in 1 day (or 2 if you're in MD?)

With 190k friggin miles, just drop this kit off with your mechanic and enjoy a brand new front end: Don't replace just one side of a control arm or bushing, etc.

For the axle, depends how split the boot is, if its not leaking grease, just have him re-boot it with a GKN Loebro boot kit - if its cracked open and spewing grease yes you'd need a new axle

OK, sounds like solid advice. Thanks for the help; highly appreciated. My left front CV boot is indeed torn and the grease is all over the inside of the rim. Was actually looking at the 6-piece fcpeuro kit but I'll go with the 10-piece kit you recommended with axles and rear link. Just hope the labor time is kept low.

This would be most cost effective way to repair and reboot the outer joint since its split - $90 made in Germany - full GKN Axle is $300

I get my Lemforder suspension parts from Max @ www.oembimmerparts.com

Price is the best and often times, I receive them the very next day.
For brake stuff, www.autohausaz.com is my go to vendor, free shipping and great prices on Zimmermann and Pagid/Jurid/Texstar.
