Correct. The Pentosin 1 is correct for the ZF auto boxes, the GM A5S390 box used a Dex III blend by Texaco.

The OP will note that the image also says "Lifetime Fill"

I'm guessing anything will probably work better than the fluid that was in it; that stuff is nasty.

The image also makes note of the sticker color on the transmission pan,
In this case for my X5 3.0i is green.

A friend of mine owns an old Hilux 2.8 diesel that he boasted about not having had to serviced for 6 years and how much he had saved. I caught up with him recently and asked how the old truck was going? He said it blew up with an all mighty bang when he was about 300 kms from home. I asked what happened? A con-rod went through the side of the block and the engine oil that came out was more like crude or grease...Not that I'm wishing anything bad for anyone that chooses to avoid regular maintenance, but there's much to be said for servicing components that use oils for lubrication, as they do loose their properties and become contaminated.

What a picture of coffee and tea has anything to do with the transmission service?
Good job mig25

Well I'm not worried about connecting rods or carbon blow-by contamination in my transmission, and I am actually following BMW's prescribed servicing cycle on it . I figure by the time it actually does require another transmission (and I'll go with a remanufactured unit), I'll still be money & time ahead by not having done periodic fluid and filter replacements.

The highest mileage on the GM 5L40-E I've noticed on this forum was 308,000 miles when it was replaced. As I recall, the owner had performed only one fluid change. I plan on keeping my E53 for two more years which will put it at 350,000 miles - we'll see what happens.
