The test fit for the E60 M5 diff went well. Direct Bolt-In which is great news for future E53 swappers as it is a super cheap way to upgrade to a 3.62 LSD for less than $400. Intercooler is getting the finishing touches on it and then the exhaust from the downpipe back will be done.

That is GREAT news. Gives me something to think about when I convert to rwd 6 speed.

Thank you for another fantastic update-
You make it look so easy,
it’s all coming together so seamlessly,
it looks like factory .

Not a huge update but finally putting on the finishing touches before drivetrain gets pulled to be gone thru. 4" from the Downpipe back. Converted to Throttle by cable as well. Driveshaft should be done this next week.

What are you planing to do about the mismatch between the M5 diff output flanges and the E53 half shafts bolt circle?

I still haven't decided that I'm doing this exact exhaust setup but it's definitely one of my top choices.

You know what would be really good if available: exhaust cutout that uses a pressure actuator rather than vacuum, and would open the cutouts anytime you have higher boost pressure. Or am I nuts?

BTW, this build look sooooo tempting.

I have been very happy with TPS electric cutouts. Have had them installed 4 or 5 years. Since the flap moves only when you hold down the switch you can open them an extent you choose.

TCI Outlaw Shifter finally came in after weeks of waiting on the part. Really wanted to go with the stock bmw shifter but I ended up going this route. Driveshaft turned out pretty slick. Getting close to the complete teardown stage and then final assembly. All hot side parts will be ceramic coated satin black. I will be running a Holley Terminator X Engine Management System. Haven't picked my Torque Converter out yet. Lots of options out there for my 4l80e.
