When it comes to decisions regarding our vehicles, my wife leaves it 100% up to me. She is admittedly not savvy enough to make them.
It's as simple as that for me. Your mileage may vary. |

Irrelevant. My wife is an engineer. She doesn't make decisions based on feelings. You should try her cooking.

Keep the X5 you've got so much invested in it and its paid for. Give her Toyota and move on. At least keep the X for a few years to get some use out of all the repairs that you have done to the vehicle.

If it helps your pricing process, I just traded my '06 4.4i to a small boutique dealership. They are now asking $12,995 for it (assuming it is still there) and they were very interested in the service history I had.
I don't know that having service history will get you more money out of the car, but it will definitely make it easier to sell if you advertise that you've reconditioned the vehicle and provide a full list upon request. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

unless you want to sell it, why would you allow your wife to tell you what to do? How many things have she bought where you dont agree to? And if you dont sell it, is she going to divorce you?
I hate it when men allow their wife to tell them what to do when the man is also, or the only bread winner in the house. Man, keep the truck if you want to.

I think the odds are that you will be spending more than is even acceptable to you in the future, especially if you are not doing your own work. At that mileage you could have further engine, transmission or other driveline issues. If you are considering keeping it I would suggest you have two thorough inspections by the best independent shops that specialize in BMWs. In addition, as everyone knows, relationships are strongest if based on respect and compromise from both individuals. In the entire scheme of things it ain't no big deal. You have another vehicle that you like and it sounds like this is her driver. if that is the case, she should be able drive what she wants. If you really want to keep the X, it might be a good compromise if you sold the wagon.

Read OP post not the rest... If i missed anything then yeah...
Understably its your wife, not sure how you guys let the woman dictate your lives or what to do, sell/buy etc.. Maybe im too used to the opposite and making the decisions.. The fact of fixing mostly all of it up common sense is keep her for another 150k.
