AHHHH! those Vorti's look mighty fine. My X is currently at the body shop getting all of the nicks and dings taken care of. When it returns I will send the rims off for reconditioning and then install a set of Vortis.

You won't be disappointed Jay, the UV are really sticky and don't get greasy when driven hard in high temps.

A long hwy drive followed by some aggressive braking/cornering in 100+ deg temps had the Hankooks getting greasy (no tire squeal, just slipping & early ABS activation).

Hey TMV,

I've been looking into those iS flares for a bit now, I have the 3.0i. Is it easy to install?

I used small screws to attach, NOT cutting slids onto the trim. It's more secured.

Always wondered how the wider wheels felt. How are they?
pros/cons?
I sometimes debate on possibly going higher, maybe 285..

Not sure how to answer that.....Since my 1st X5 I've always had 285's in the rear, this last set of REARS I had to go with 275's.

I cant tell the difference in driving between the 285 and 275 series. and I cant compare to a more narrow tire as I haven't any experience with them.

The only reason I dont like the 275's is the way they LOOK. Silly I know.

I don't run this X5 hard or track it or anything like that. Its a smooth easy drive.

The 3.0 is VERY different that the 4.4....... HUGE difference for me and what I need it for. So I made the move to the 3.0 and its work perfectly well for me. Still have some gitty-up but it doesn't WOW me like the big brother did.

That's TMV's old baby. I can't recall what size he was running in the rear, I know I've read it somewhere on this site though.
I (only) run 255's, and his look much wider, so definitely above 255
Fixed

OE 20" tires size: 275 Fronts, 315 Rears
