Keep MID or Replace, main goal is bluetooth

So...I've looked at a lot of the threads on replacing the MID. My ride is a 2003 e53. No bluetooth (apparently I missed that by a tear! lol!). Currently have an XM plug and play running through FM. My goal is to add bluetooth.

I know I lose some functionality if I replace the MID. From what I've read, it looks like the GROM is really the best alternative in keeping the MID. Just trying to gauge the best options. Others include a $50-$60 bluetooth speaker with the phone functionality. I would prefer to use my stereo system ,but that means either replacing the MID or a GROM type solution.

Again, I've poured over most of the threads and it seems if I keep the MID GROM is the way to go. Any newer experiences in replacing the MID and what those units look like/performance? Another option is a Parrot type setup. Again, not my 1st choice but definitely an option.

Thanks in advance for the feedback!
