I actually like the fsctory DSP sound and volume level. And my added 10" sub in trunk takes away any issues i have for lacking low end. So why am i still so curious to buy new JL C2-600 speakers? If my factory speakers work well now is it worth the upgrade (rhetorical)?
Hmmmmm the addiction to modding always bites hard.

I didn't upgrade until one of my speakers were rattling. I went from OE speakers, to the BSW, then to the JL Drivers and tweeters. Each step has been a good transition.

Many years ago I installed the BSW speakers, amp and subwoofer. It was even before they made a sub that went in the original sub location. It was a huge improvement over the stock system with DSP. As mentioned the BSW is no longer offered and I expect that state of the art stuff would be even better anyway.

I was just about to buy two sets of the C2-600 kit only to realize the rear doors dont actually have tweeters. the only tweeters in the vehicle are in front doors, by outside mirrors. wonder why they never put them in the back. either way, its cheaper for aftermarket stuff not having to put another set of tweets in.

So, what are the tiny speakers in the rear doors? (pictured). I just replaced these today with JL tweeters.

Prop when you say tiny speaker are you referring to the speaker grill by the door handle correct? If so that is a mid driver as opposed to a tweeter. My X5 only has the tweeters up front in the door sail. The mid-driver in the rear doors is another odd size speaker.

Ahh hah! Well, I will tell you that I put a 'tweeter' in there from the JL components that I bought. Even though small, it sounds much better than OE. The foam I used is perfect. It's likely just accepting whatever signal is sent to it, so any speaker would theoretically function. How well is a question for audiophiles. I like my result a lot.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Jay - any JL solutions for the mid drivers in the door and the dash for us DSP guys? I seem to recall the Midranges from BSW being around 65mm IIRC - but I could be wrong (although you can confirm since you have them)

I'd like to piece together my own 10 piece non-BSW DSP solution and you seem to be on the right track -

Should I get 2 of these and I'll end up having a spare set of tweeters in the front doors and then figure out the mid-ranges later? The C2-600 set?

Yeah you can buy two sets and you will have an extra set of tweets. you are also gonna get some crossovers in the JL set but you won't need them since each of the OE drivers have cross-overs already thus making the installation pretty easy. RB by the way thats a good price on the set of JLs.

I will have to do more research on the mid-drivers. I don't think JL had a an exact size that could work. I'll have to measure them and then do the research.
