Agreed I think the Sachs OE units are great or the 4.6is. With my H&R sport springs they really compliment the X5. I have put many bilsteins on my other BMWs in the past and they have been a good choice and recently did konis on my M5 with dinan springs. The ride of my X5 before the replacement of the Sachs was good and I did not want to deviate too much from this since this vehicle is daily driver. So I figured with the H&R lowered springs that were stiffer than stock the Sachs would be a good compliment. |

Noticed a slight clunk and a 65mph vibration so went ahead and replaced parts on passenger front. Upper and lower arms as well as the ball joint. Only took me about an hour and 20 minutes. Had it aligned this morning and wow, what a difference! Drives like it's new!

The headlights are aimed too low on our X5. It looks as if the position sensor is fine but I am not sure what the correct position is. I do recall removing it last time I replaced the control arm. Do these also have issues with the plastic adjusters like the E39's have?
Here is a pic of the current position.

I think that arm should be up.

It would be great if someone could snap a pic of theirs to verify.

I changed it and the passenger side is better but driver side still aimed way down and won't change. Seems likely I have a broken adjuster.
